Who I Am.
Hello! I am Evelyn R. Araujo Barreto de Souza, an attorney specializing in Dispute Resolution, acting predominantly as an Independent Arbitrator.
I am a Professor of Public International Law and Dispute Resolution at the Law School of Mackenzie Presbyterian University. I hold a Doctorate and Master's degree in International and Comparative Law from the University of São Paulo (USP).
I strive to bring an innovative, creative, humanistic, and multidisciplinary approach to my practice.

2002-2006
Academic Background
Building solid
foundations.
During my undergraduate studies at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, I already demonstrated a particular interest in extrajudicial dispute resolution through the study of these mechanisms in "perpetual peace projects."
At the time, alternative dispute resolution solutions were not included in the Law School curriculum.
I must say that this initial choice, not very common, was the first step of a professional journey.
I realized early on that my calling was not in litigation, but rather in finding innovative and tailored solutions beyond judicial proceedings.
2008 - 2013
First Professional Steps
My Beginning
in Dispute Resolution Practice.
I served as Executive Director at the São Paulo Center for Mediation and Arbitration (NPMA) for 14 years. Simultaneously, I completed my Master's degree in International and Comparative Law at USP.
This period was fundamental in developing my practical expertise in extrajudicial solutions, always combined with academic rigor. I began building the solid foundation that would enable me to innovate in the field of arbitration.
2018 - 2023
Academic Consolidation
Teaching
Practice.
I became Technical Director and Academic Coordinator of CAMES School - Specialized Mediation and Arbitration Chamber. I began my teaching career in the lato sensu specialization program at "Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas" and in the undergraduate program at "Anhembi Morumbi".
I completed my Doctorate at USP and published my first book, "Perpetual Peace Projects in Contemporary International Law."
This phase marks my consolidation in practice with cases involving compensation and dismissal of senior executives and complex corporate disputes.
2023 - 2024
Solidifying Arbitration Practice
Expanding Horizons.
I returned to Mackenzie (my alma mater) as a faculty member, became a member of the CAMES Deliberative Council, and joined the referential list of specialized and prestigious mediation and arbitration institutions such as AMCHAM.
I organized important national events and intensified my academic publications.
2025
The Beginning of a New Phase

Establishing my expertise in a New Chapter
The year 2025 marks a transformative moment in my trajectory. I decided to establish my personal brand as a dispute resolution attorney and independent arbitrator, distancing myself from institutional ties and consolidating my expertise in the field.
The symbol I chose for my visual identity harmoniously combines two elements that represent me very well: the tip of a pen and the fleur-de-lis.
The pen, undoubtedly one of the objects I love and have collected most throughout my life, evokes knowledge, study, and legal tradition. It symbolizes the formality of contracts and documents that permeate my work, while reflecting the artisanal and customized care with which I conduct each dispute resolution.
The fleur-de-lis, in turn, represents the aspect of femininity and sophistication, which are inseparable from my professional practice.
The symbol reflects my ability to innovate while respecting traditions, always with the desire to reach new levels of excellence in dispute resolution.
